Google Will Now Display Website Carousel For Mobile Search Queries

It would be great for us if we can easily browse the latest content from the popular websites right from the Google search results itself without actually visiting the site. Sometimes, it can be hard to go through all the great videos, articles and more out there to find what interests you. Now, if you search on Google on your mobile, you’ll see the freshest, most relevant content from within a single website grouped together in one easy-to-scan place. This is what we call as the website carousel.

In the example below, have a look at the search results for the search query "Greece". We can see that Google returns a "More from the guardian" link containing the latest content from the Guradian's website.




Similarly, a search for NPR will return you links to all their latest articles and videos. So, what are you waiting for? See the results yourself.

Upgraded URL's in Adwords - An Easier Option for URL Tracking

Adwords will be rolling out a new update on their interface by the name of upgraded URL's. These provide an easier and faster way to manage and track important information about each click on your AdWords ads. 

The destination URL that we specify in our account is composed of 2 sections:
Landing page URL Tracking code
If we need to make changes in the tracking code then the entire destination URL changes. This triggers a re-review of the destination URL and the ads stop running while your URL is re-reviewed. This wastes time and hampers conversions.
Upgraded URLs let you enter the landing page portion of your URL and your tracking information separately in AdWords.

Google Knowledge Graph Will Now Display Health Related Facts For Common Medical Conditions

One in 20 Google searches are for health-related information. As such, health queries forms a crucial share of the overall search queries and considering the fact that how critical health related information can be in some situations, Google has decided to display relevant medical facts right up front from the Knowledge Graph
What Will Google Display?

Typical symptoms and treatments of the disease.How common the condition is—whether it’s critical, if it’s contagious, what ages it affects.Illustrations from licensed medical illustrators.

Google Feb 4th Update - Is it Panda, Penguin or Starbucks?

Something happened to Google search results on Feb 4th. Still no official announcements has been made from the end of Google but many are guessing it to be the Starbucks update. SERP flux measuring tool, Algoroo referred to this update as the Starbucks update. However, it might be a Panda or a Penguin update too.
Here is a screenshot of Algoroo indicating a high roo value of 2.99.

How Google Stopped Bad Advertising Practices in 2014

Counterfeiters, malicious software and scams- can they easily become a part of the adwords platform and cheat the people? Not really, Google has taken some great steps to stop bad advertising practices in 2014 and will continue to take it further in 2015.

What Google Fought in 2014?
In order to combat counterfeiters, Google banned 7,000 advertisers for promoting counterfeit goods, down from 14,000 in 2013 (and 82,000 in 2012). This shows counterfeiters are finding it hard to to circumvent the advanced enforcement systems.
In order to protect the safety and security of users, it stopped all ads pointing to sites where it found malware - whether it’s spyware, adware or other types of malicious software. Around 250,000 sites were removed.
